Santiago Cohen (born 1954) is a cartoonist, animator, fine artist and graphic novel illustrator based in Jersey City, New Jersey. Santiago studied Communications design in the Metropolitan University in Mexico followed by a MFA in Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY. Santiago has illustrated books for: Marshall Cavendish, GP Putnam, Skypony Press, Zondervan, Viking, Zanner-Bloser, Houghton Mifflin, Warner, Golden Books, Chronicle and Blue Apple. He designed Christmas cards for MoMA in NY. He has been a film animation director and designer for the Ink Tank animation company in New York, and his work includes 24 "''Troubles the Cat''" shorts for the Cartoon Network and Sesame Workshop, segments for HBO specials, network ID's for the French children's channel TF! Jeunesse, six bumpers for TELE-TV, and spots for The Long Island Savings Bank and Toys R' Us, and outside of the Ink Tank, three 15-second segments for ''Sesame Street''. Santiago has had individual and collective art shows in New York and Mexico. He designed the original Comedy Central logo. His graphic novel "The Fifth Name" received a grant from the Xeric foundation. In 2014 he finished his Exvida Project, made of 1150 oil paintings telling his life in an ex-voto style.
